Art of Selling Art

In Sacramento, in November there will be a workshop by Robert Dvorak about selling art. His book will also be on sale.

It lasts from 9:30-4:30 on Nov 12, 2005 and costs $59. Hopefully, I get to go. Check out learningexchange.com for other programs.

Gaining experience for any job

This is wonderful advice from collegegrad.com. I sometimes fall in the trap of saying there is no way to gain experience but there is!
When you're undergrad, especially in art history, take every opportunity. Go to every gallery opening. Try for every internship.
Network and really get to know your professors because they can give you real advice about succeeding.

Internships
Summer jobs
Campus jobs
Entrepreneurial/self-employed jobs
Temporary work
Volunteer work--school, church, club, not-for-profit organizations
Special projects
Research papers
Certification courses
Campus activity positions
Fraternity/sorority/social club positions
Extracurricular or sports leadership positions

The starving 'art historian'

The bills are piling up, I don't have a permanent job, and I'm going to Japan for a month. Could my life be any funnier?
